Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
We’re recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a well-established, high-volume manufacturing site in Port Talbot.
This role sits within a modern, safety-led production environment where reliability, consistency and preventative maintenance are key. The successful candidate will join a structured engineering team supporting a continuous manufacturing operation, with strong processes, clear expectations and long-term stability.
The business operates in a regulated, fast-paced environment with ongoing investment in plant, machinery and engineering capability.
The Role
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of electrical systems and production equipment to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operation.
Key responsibilities include:
· Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and production machinery
· Responding to breakdowns and electrical faults to minimise downtime
· Electrical fault-finding on motors, drives, control panels, sensors and safety circuits
· Supporting continuous improvement and reliability-focused engineering activities
· Assisting with equipment upgrades, installations and improvement projects
· Working closely with production teams to support output and quality targets
· Ensuring all work is completed in line with site health & safety procedures
· Accurately recording work carried out using maintenance systems
What We’re Looking For
· Experience as an Electrical Maintenance Technician or Electrical Engineer within manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, process or production environments
· A recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent)
· Strong electrical fault-finding capability
· Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery (fault-finding level rather than programming)
· Familiarity with automated production lines and continuous manufacturing processes
· A proactive approach to maintenance with a strong safety mindset
· Ability to work Panama shift patterns
· Team-focused attitude with good communication skills
· Ex-Forces candidates with relevant electrical experience are welcomed and supported
